Skye Nathaniel (Gamerscore: 0) suffers from a background in philosophy and a lack of any discernible career, making him the perfect exemplar of the oft-maligned “man-child” gamer archetype. To the chagrin of his peers, he spends more time reading about videogames on the internet than actually playing them. Skye also owns quite a lot of magazines and other stuff that he never looks at. He enjoys songwriting and is authoring eleventy books and design documents right now.
Skye Nathaniel is a single player residing in New Brunswick, NJ, with his Nintendo DS. He has never played Dungeons & Dragons.
- spends his daylight hours keeping criminals on the streets.
- treats his hobbies like a stable of wives; videogames are the youngest, and his favorite.
- hopes nobody thinks that last line is misogynistic. Actually, fuck yourself. It’s just a metaphor. You can’t be abusive to conceptual hobbies.
- ’s favorite fictional character is Achilles, son of Peleus.
- ’s intellectual heroes are Plato, Moses, Jefferson, Bach, Lincoln and Einstein.
- is analytic, uncreative, and sympathetic (but not empathetic).
- believes there are only two virtues: justice and nobility.
- really fucking hates Rock Band.
TV’s Adam Taliercio had written a perfectly acceptable bio several months ago but was asked to rewrite it by the site’s founder. [You stole my ideas, dick. —Ed.]
He has been enamored of video games since his sixth birthday, when an uncle his family no longer speaks to gave him an NES. He is particularly enthused with RPGs, and has played more of them to completion across more systems than he can presently recall. He knows that jRPGs are largely terrible but he likes them anyway.
He lurks around internisus.com because he finds gaming discourse on the internet increasingly repellent – rooted either in mindless, corporate banner-waving and saber-rattling or in pseudo-intellectual, pretentious, posturing bullshit depending on where you visit. He seeks, as any Buddhist would, the “middle way”. He is not a Buddhist but is comfortable with glibly summarizing their entire belief system in a bio he is writing (in the third person, no less) for a gaming site.
TV’s Adam dismisses the notion that any one enormous corporation is inherently better – or at least less awful – than another, and does not identify himself or measure his worth based on which plastic boxes he purchased to play his video games on.
Incidentally, TV’s Adam purchased the following plastic boxes to play his video games on: Xbox 360, Wii, PS2, and the DS (but not the DSi, which he thinks is a hateful abomination but is OK with it if you disagree). He plans to acquire a PS3 as soon as it amasses a respectable collection of games he finds interesting and he has a good $400 to fritter away. He doesn’t have a PSP yet but would very much like one.
He currently lives in Avon, NJ with a girl who reluctantly tolerates his gaming habit. Sometimes she plays Rock Band with him.
TV’s Adam is an unapologetic fan of Rock Band.
